In depth

Why the metric is useful

It shows how quickly new or revised content reaches AI answers – and on which platforms. Systems with live search can pick up new pages early; answers based purely on model knowledge only catch up with new model versions. Comparing your own pages shows which content gets picked up quickly.

How GeoTrova measures it

GeoTrova links the first bot visit from the server logs to the first citation in the measurements, per URL. If the first citation occurred before measurement began, we display that openly instead of calculating a negative time.

Frequently asked questions
There's no general benchmark. What's meaningful is comparing your own pages against each other.
Not for the timing of the first citation. The starting point is the first bot visit – and that's what the server logs provide.
